What is a bareroot tree?

We grow trees in healthy, biologically rich soil so they have the best start in life. This also means that they can only be dug up during the winter dormant season after they lose their leaves, but before sap begins to move again in Spring. Field grown trees like these have to be 'asleep' for the transplanting process. Hopefully they'll wake up in their forever home!

Are bareroot trees difficult to plant?

Fortunately bareroot trees are very easy to plant! I've made a planting guide which is available to download here

I've clicked Standard Delivery, when will my trees arrive?

Lifting season begins in mid-November and runs through till mid-March. All pre-season orders should be delivered before Christmas.

If you place an order during the lifting season by Monday noon I should be able to dispatch this to on the Wednesday/Thursday of the week and it should be with you by Friday.

Please make sure to include any special instructions for the courier, such as a safe place to leave your trees if you are not in.

Any orders placed after Monday noon will be dispatched the following week.

I've clicked Local Delivery, when will my trees arrive?

I will be doing local deliveries on Fridays through the winter months and will contact you asap after your order to arrange a suitable delivery date.

I'm collecting my trees at Pillars of Hercules, when will they be ready?

Collections can made 9am - 4pm Friday/Saturday/Sunday from Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm.

Pre-season orders will be ready from mid-November, I'll contact you to arrange a collection weekend.

Orders placed during the winter season (Nov-March) before 8pm on a Wednesday will be ready to collect from Friday of the same week.

Please let me know if you'd like to delay collection to the following collection window
