Crataegus orientalis
Crataegus orientalis (also known as the Oriental or Eastern thorn) is an elegant, small deciduous tree prized for its ornamental beauty and wildlife value. Deeply lobed, glossy green leaves with downy, silvery-grey undersides that turn attractive shades of yellow and bronze in autumn. The haws are large, eye-catching orange-red or coral-coloured crab apple-like fruits that persist into autumn for wildlife. Reaches an approximate height and spread of 4m x 3m. Extremely hardy; tolerates dry soils, urban pollution, and coastal conditions as long as the soil is well-drained.
Please note: A stake and tie are required for all bare-root trees. We recommend a 50mm x 1500mm machine rounded wooden stake with a rubber tree tie for best results. These are available in the online shop under sundries
