Damson 'Merryweather' – Damson - Dual Purpose - bareroot tree

An exceptional, unusually large damson variety that produces heavy crops of deep blue-black fruits. It behaves as a brisk, intensely flavourful cooker early in September, but sweetens up enough by late autumn to be enjoyed fresh as a sharp dessert fruit. It keeps reliably in cool conditions for up to two weeks.

Please note: A stake and tie are required for all bare-root trees. We recommend a 50mm x 1500mm machine rounded wooden stake with a rubber tree tie for best results. These are available in the online shop under sundries
