Plum 'Satsuma' – Japanese Plum - Dessert - bareroot tree

A highly distinct, ancient Japanese blood plum variety featuring a dark red skin and a spectacular, solid crimson-red flesh. The flavour is intensely sweet, deeply rich, and carry a distinct almond-like aroma. Ready for harvest in late August, it handles well and can be stored in cool conditions for 1–2 weeks. IMPORTANT: This plum requires another variety of Japanese plum for pollination; Plum 'Lizzie' would be a perfect candidate.

Please note: A stake and tie are required for all bare-root trees. We recommend a 50mm x 1500mm machine rounded wooden stake with a rubber tree tie for best results. These are available in the online shop under sundries
