Medlar 'Westerveld'

Originating from the Netherlands in the 1975, this fantastic semi-dwarf medlar variety is prized for its exceptionally heavy, reliable annual crops. It produces medium-to-large, russet-brown fruits that are ideal for making traditional medlar jelly, cheese, or eating raw once "bletted" (softened by frost or storage). Harvested in October, it has excellent keeping qualities while it cures over several weeks.
