Pear 'Jargonelle'

One of the oldest recorded dessert pears, dating back to at least the 1600s. It yields distinctively long, necked fruits with a fine, sweet, and refreshing juice early in the season. Harvested in August, it ripens quickly and must be eaten almost immediately.
