Plum 'Belle de Louvain'

A traditional, exceptionally hardy Victorian cooking plum that produces very large, oval, deep purple-red fruits covered in a fine blue bloom. The firm flesh carries a brisk, sharp acidity that mellows beautifully into rich pies, tarts, and dark jams. Ready for harvest in late August, it should be used fresh or kept cool for 1–2 weeks.
